What’s something I see effective leaders do to kickstart the working week or day ahead?
They think and they read. I like this quote of Henry Ford: “Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it.”
Thinking and reflecting about how to best prepare the week, anticipating on things to come, mapping out steps and approaches and preparing next steps to progress. Yes, it is hard work to really reflect and think things through and doing it consistently, but it’s worth the effort: it will calm your mind and allows you to think on your feet as you go.
Furthermore leaders read about their own business and functional areas but definitely also outside their areas. Seeking inspiration and increasing their lateral thinking for creative problem solving.
What do you do to mentally prepare your week?
